As SoloMan the Wizard, Kai Larasi has captivated audiences with his awe-inspiring spoken word performances across the UK and Europe. A respected FLO Poet, he has performed at iconic events like FLO Vortex, the Edinburgh Fringe, and BBC Word's First Showcase. His work explores the healing power of art, ancestry, and storytelling.
Commissioned by Sadler's Wells and Toussaint To Move, SoloMan co-created "Negus," a piece that combines movement and word to chronicle the journey from prince to king. He also co-created a short film with Ashley Karrell, "Tales of the Winter Solstice," and adapted a colonial silent video to channel the voices of colonized communities titled “First Contact”.
SoloMan's work has been published in UNICEF's anthology "Words By" and he has lent his booming baritone to voice-over projects. He has been commissioned by Historic Royal Palaces to bring hidden histories to life at the Tower of London. With his powerful messages, purposeful narratives, and desire to spread love, SoloMan weaves words into worlds and traverses time.
